Why can't I see summaries of news stories?

You can view the news index pages in two different ways: You can see pages with headlines only or with headlines and summaries. This feature works on all top news sections, such as Business, Technology, Politics, etc.

When viewing one of these index pages on Yahoo! News for the first time, you'll see stories listed down the page as headlines only.

To change the view to include summaries with headlines:

  1. Click the "View" menu, which appears above the headline list on the page.
  2. Select "Headlines & Summaries."

Changing the view on one page also affects other index pages. So if you select "Headlines & Summaries" in Entertainment, you'll then see headlines and summaries on the Business page too.

To switch back to headlines only, click the "View" menu again, select "Headlines Only," and your page will change so you only see headlines.
