How do I find news about a particular topic?

We've improved the way you navigate Yahoo! News by providing tabs at the top of the News front page and tabs at the top of each news module as you scroll down the front page.

At the top of the page, you'll find all of our standard news categories: Top Stories, World, Business, Technology, Entertainment, etc. Clicking on the Entertainment tab, for example, will take you into the Entertainment news section. Clicking that tab will also give you a set of subcategories, seen in gray beneath the tab, including Movies, Music, TV, etc. Click on one of the subcategories to be taken into more specialized news about that topic.

Also on the Yahoo! News front page, you'll see modules as you scroll down the page, each with its own set of tabs. For instance, in the Top Stories module, you'll see tabs for AP, Reuters, washingtonpost.com, USA Today, and others. Just click on one of those links to see headlines from a specific news provider.

At the bottom of the module, you'll see "More From" and then additional news providers including the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Knight Ridder Newspapers, and others. Click one of those links, and you'll be taken to a page featuring top stories from each of those news sources.

What does "My Sources" mean?

We've included a great way for you to get news from the sources you want to read, in addition to the great sources provided by Yahoo! News. If you're signed in and a My Yahoo! user, clicking "My Sources" will display headlines from top news providers you've selected on My Yahoo!.

You can also customize what news you get under the My Sources tab:

  1. Click "Add/Edit My Sources."
  2. On the next page, choose any number of news providers, such as the New York Times, CNN.com, MSNBC.com, and many others.
  3. After selecting the news you want, click "Finished" to save your choices and go back to Yahoo! News.

Now you'll see headlines from the sources you chose under the My Sources tab.
