Where do I go to experience Rhapsody 25 on Yahoo! Search?

The Rhapsody 25 experience is integrated with Yahoo! Shortcuts for thousands of music artists. Just search for your favorite artists on Yahoo! and look for the information that appears at the top of the search results page that includes the artist image and links to videos, songs and more. To get the Rhapsody 25 experience, just click the play button next to one of the songs and the FoxyPlayer will stream the full length track powered by Rhapsody.

What is a Yahoo! Shortcut?

A Yahoo! Shortcut is a quick way to get to the information you want. A Yahoo! Shortcut automatically appears when it is relevant to your search and can contain links to useful content from Yahoo!, its partners, or across the web. Some of the content may come from partners who pay to be included in Yahoo! or have another financial relationship with Yahoo!.

What are Rhapsody and Rhapsody 25?

Rhapsody is the critically acclaimed digital music service that lets you listen to whatever you want, wherever you are — without paying per track. Rhapsody membership plans start at less than the cost of a CD a month, so you can listen to as much music as you want without limits. To join Rhapsody, visit the following link:

http://offer.rhapsody.com/yahoo

Rhapsody 25 is a special offering from Rhapsody that allows users to listen to 25 free full length tracks every month. Your 30 day period starts when you play your first track. If you listen to all of your 25 free tracks before your 30 day period has ended, you will hear 30 second samples until your play count is reset.

Do I need to download any software to play free full length tracks from Rhapsody?

Adobe® Flash® is required to get the Rhapsody 25 experience on Yahoo! Search. Most computers already have Flash installed, so most users should be able to just click play and enjoy.

Do I need to sign in to Yahoo! or Rhapsody to play free full length tracks from Rhapsody?

You are not required to sign in to hear free full length tracks.

Why am I sent to Rhapsody when trying to purchase a track on Yahoo!?

Yahoo! Music has recently partnered with Rhapsody to offer our users access to Rhapsody's critically acclaimed digital music service. As part of this partnership, we are promoting Rhapsody's new MP3 store. If you listen to a song on Yahoo! Music that is powered by Rhapsody, you can click the shopping cart button in the FoxyPlayer and you will be directed to Rhapsody to purchase the MP3 for that song. The Rhapsody purchase process is not associated with Yahoo! and you will need to create a separate Rhapsody account to purchase the music.

For help using the Rhapsody MP3 store, please refer to Rhapsody's Help pages here: http://mp3.rhapsody.com/

Is the Rhapsody experience available outside of the United States?

The Rhapsody service including Rhapsody 25 is only available to users in the United States. Rhapsody plans to expand the service to other locations over the next year.

Will the Rhapsody 25 experience work on a Mac?

Yes. Rhapsody is available to Mac users and can be accessed in Firefox and Safari browsers.

If I am a Rhapsody member, can I listen to unlimited music through the FoxyPlayer on Yahoo! Search?

Yes. If you currently subscribe to Rhapsody, you can click the “powered by Rhapsody” link and then click to sign into your Rhapsody membership. Once you sign in, you will be able to listen to as many full length tracks as you like with the FoxyPlayer.

The Yahoo! Shortcut only lists four songs per artist. Where can I go to listen to more free full length tracks by an artist?

Clicking the “more songs” link in the Yahoo! Shortcut will take you to the song page for that artist on Yahoo! Music. We’re currently updating the artist pages on Yahoo! Music to include Rhapsody 25 playback. These new pages should be available soon. In the meantime, you can visit http://www.rhapsody.com to find more free full length tracks by your favorite artists.

Is this service exclusive and unique to Yahoo! Search?

No, Rhapsody has similar deals with other organizations however this is the first time this experience has been introduced to a major search engine.

If I am playing a song and leave the Search page will the song stop?

Yes. The FoxyPlayer will cease to play and appear. The Rhapsody 25 experience on Yahoo! Search is limited to the search results page.

Should we expect to see other dynamic experiences being introduced to the search results page?

Yes, Yahoo! Search will continue to advance our understanding of user intent and deliver the best results and experience – no matter the content type or source. We know Web search users are looking for an answer, not a bunch of links and we will continue to help users get from “to done” to “done” in one search.
