What are Lyrics on Yahoo! Music?
The Lyrics offering gives Yahoo! Music users free access to the lyrics for 400,000 songs. Lyrics are integrated into the site in the following ways:
- A page listing the most popular artists and songs for which we have lyrics located at: music.yahoo.com/lyrics
- Users can search for lyrics using our site search function. Lyrics are included in ‘Search All’ and there is also a dedicated ‘Search Lyrics’ function that provides more detailed results.
- Lyrics are integrated into our artist pages so users can browse lyrics for their favorite artists and songs.
- Lyrics pages will soon be available through Yahoo! Search.
Lyrics are freely available to our users. Unlike other lyrics sites, we license the lyrics from a company called Gracenote, which has licensed the lyrics from the publishers. So the lyrics are completely legal and highly accurate, plus songwriters are properly compensated and we have no spyware or malware other like you find on other lyrics sites.
