Unfortunately, we don’t have coverage for all of the more than 4 million songs available on Yahoo! Music. Only a percent of this total is currently available in lyric form. This happens because ownership of lyrics is very complex, and often multiple people own the rights to a single lyric. The lyrics publisher, who we license this content from, has to make sure all owners have agreed to license the lyric, so many lyrics are tough to get. For example, some hip-hop tracks can have as many as 10 or 12 owners, all of whom have to agree.

We’re constantly adding new lyrics to the database so it will continue to grow, but unfortunately not all lyrics are available at this time.
