Yahoo! Music Jukebox and Yahoo! Music Unlimited Compatible Portable Devices

The Yahoo! Music Jukebox lets you take your music to go by transferring to many portable devices; however, depending on the service you want, you must have the correct device.

If you want to put Yahoo! Music Unlimited subscription music on portable devices, you must have Yahoo! Music Unlimited To Go and a subscription-compatible portable device. Read more about this below.

iPod: The Yahoo! Music Jukebox is not compatible with iPod.

If you're buying a new device, check the list below first to be sure it's compatible with your Music service. If you already have a device, check the list below to see if it's compatible.

There are three types of portable devices compatible with the Yahoo! Music Jukebox. Please read the details of each type to see which device you need. In some cases, there are special instructions or updates that may be critical to using a device with the Yahoo! Music Jukebox; if so, click the device name to see specific information about that device:

  1. Subscription-music compatible (for use with the Yahoo! Music Unlimited To Go subscription music service) and other file types
  2. Windows Media Digital Rights Management (DRM)-compatible (for use with Yahoo! Music Unlimited burnable downloads) and other file types
  3. Devices to play music you imported from CDs or other sources outside Yahoo! Music Unlimited.

    Music you added as part of your subscription to Yahoo! Music Unlimited To Go can only be transferred to subscription-compatible devices. This means that you must have one of the devices listed below if you have Yahoo! Music Unlimited To Go and you want to take the subscription music to go. Please note that at the present time, this refers to existing To Go subscribers only. Yahoo! Music Unlimited To Go is only accepting new subscribers through select partner channels.

    Some of these players will work "out of the box," i.e., just plug them in and transfer music immediately. Others may need a software (firmware) update, which is free, or there may be specific technical help required. Click the device name to get the updates and technical help, if applicable.

    Music you purchased as burnable downloads from Yahoo! Music Unlimited plus most music you imported or added yourself can be transferred to many Windows Media DRM-compatible devices. You may use the devices below if you buy burnable downloads from Yahoo! Music Unlimited (not subscription music -- see #1) or want to transfer music you imported yourself from CDs. Note that the device must be compatible with Windows Media DRM:

    Music you imported yourself into the Yahoo! Music Jukebox, either by importing a CD, getting it from friends, or some method outside the Yahoo! Music Unlimited service, should be transferable to many portable devices.

    The Yahoo! Music Jukebox is not compatible with the iPod.
