Network Music Troubleshooting
Q: I have a network media player connected to my home network but it is not listing the music saved in the Yahoo! Music Jukebox. How come?
A: In order for your network media player to see the music saved in the Yahoo! Music Jukebox, you should make sure that the following steps are taken:
- Yahoo! Music Jukebox is running on your PC
- Network Music is turned on in the Yahoo! Music Jukebox. Select the Edit menu, then Preferences > Network Music. Select Turn on Network Music and then select OK.
- Make sure that your home network is configured correctly.
- Make sure that firewall software is not blocking Network Music. If you have firewall software running you'll need to add Yahoo! Music Jukebox to the allowed applications list. (Note that if you're running Windows XP Service Pack 1, you’ll need to disable the firewall or update to Service Pack 2)
- If you have a wireless network…
- Make sure that both your PC and the network media player are pointing at the same network name
- Make sure that you enter your security password on the network media player and the PC (if you have security enabled on your home network)
Q: Why won't my network media player play Yahoo! Music Unlimited songs saved to My Music or playlists?
A: Only some network media players can play Yahoo! Music Unlimited songs. If the packaging has a PlaysForSure logo on it or states that Windows Media Audio DRM is supported, the player should play Yahoo! Music Unlimited songs. You may want to contact the manufacturer's technical support team if you still cannot play Yahoo! Music Unlimited songs.
Q: I've saved songs from Yahoo! Music Unlimited to My Music, but they aren't appearing on my network media player. How come?
A: If you have Yahoo! Music Unlimited bookmarked tracks in My Music, they will not appear on your network media player unless you are signed in to Yahoo! Music Unlimited on the PC. If you aren't signed in, try signing in to see if these tracks appear.
Q: My network media player shows the playlists that I've saved in Yahoo! Music Jukebox, but when I try to play the songs, they won't play. How come?
A: If your playlists contain Yahoo! Music Unlimited bookmarks, they will not play unless you are signed in to Yahoo! Music Unlimited on the PC.
