Do I Have to be Online to Play a Song?
Not necessarily.
For subscription music:
If you have not changed the default preference under Automatically Download Song in your Yahoo! Music Jukebox Preferences (Edit > Preferences > Y! Unlimited), your subscription tracks are downloaded to your hard drive, so you can access them whether on- or offline. If you selected Bookmark It in Preferences, you will receive tracks as a stream, and so you will have to be online to listen. We encourage you to retain the default download option so you can enjoy your music where ever you go.
The licenses for subscription downloads must be updated every 30 days, so you may theoretically download a song and play it without being connected for 30 days. If you do not connect for roughly 30 days, however, you may be prompted to log on to the Internet to automatically update your music licenses.
For burnable, purchased downloads:
You do not have to be connected to the web to play these songs.
