What Are Influencers and Followers?
Influencers are members who you want to influence the music played on your Yahoo! LAUNCHcast Radio station and in My Recommendations. When you select Influencers, songs they rate highly are more likely to play on your station. Your own ratings take precedence, and Influencers only affect songs that you have not yet rated.
Followers are other users who look to you for music recommendations. When you acquire new music or highly rated music, it will automatically be recommended to your Followers. Note: you must be a subscriber to Yahoo! LAUNCHcast Plus or Yahoo! Music Unlimited to use the Influencers feature.
To view your current Influencers:
- In the left navigation pane, click Y! Unlimited.
- Click View My Music Profile at the top right.
- On the My Music Profile page, locate Music Community and click My Influencers.
When influencers acquire new songs or rate a song highly, the songs are recommended to you. Browsing members who have music tastes similar to yours is a great way to discover and add more Influencers.
To find members with music tastes similar to yours:
- In the left navigation pane, click Y! Unlimited.
- Click View My Music Profile at the top right.
- On the My Music Profile page, locate Music Community, click My Similar Members.
- Click any user ID to see what that member listens to, and to find out who influences them.
To view your Followers:
- Click Y! Unlimited in the left navigation pane.
- Click View My Music Profile at the top right.
- Under Music Community, click My Followers.
