How Recommendations Work
The Yahoo! Music Jukebox gives you instant, updated music recommendations so you can explore the kind of music that's most important to you.
View Your Recommendations
Here's how it works: if you have rated music on Yahoo! Music or completed the quick Personalization Wizard when you started the Yahoo! Music Jukebox, the Yahoo! Music Jukebox already knows something about what you like. On the Yahoo! Music Jukebox homepage, you'll see the Recommendations section (you must be signed in for personalization). These songs and albums are suggested to you based on music you already rated. Click More to see your full, personalized Recommendations for albums, artists and songs. As you continue to rate music on the Yahoo! Music Jukebox, your recommendations become more refined.
Refine Your Recommendations
On your Recommendations pages for artist, album and song, you can manually rate the individual selections to get even more focused suggestions. Simply rate the Recommendations you see on these pages using the 4-star rating tool and Click Refresh at the bottom of the page. (Click the ban icon in the ratings tool to never hear that music again.) The Yahoo! Music Jukebox focuses your recommendations more clearly on those artists, albums and songs you rated higher.
Your recommendations also influence the music heard on your customized Yahoo! LAUNCHcast radio station. Finally, your Influencers also impact your recommendations, though not as powerfully as your own personal ratings.
Tip: if you see Recommendations repeatedly that you don't want to keep seeing (even though you may like them), rate them: this will refine your Recommendations further, but also, will remove those items from repeated display in your Recommendations.
