Using Playlists
A playlist is a list of songs you can use for many purposes when managing your music with the Yahoo! Music Jukebox. It gathers music into lists for easy organization, but it's much more than that.
You create playlists in several ways, and when you save them, they sit in the Playlists area accessible from the left navigation pane. Click Playlists to view any playlists you have saved.
You can add tracks to playlists, remove tracks, move them around, and more. You can also delete or rename playlists by right-clicking on the playlist name and selecting your choice.
Creating a playlist makes it easier to burn CDs, transfer music to portable devices, and more. In the Yahoo! Music Jukebox, you can drag playlist names to the blank CD icon in the left navigation pane or to the portable device name (if you have one attached) and move the entire playlist.
With the Yahoo! Music Jukebox, there are three main ways to create a playlist. If you are running an older version you may want to upgrade to the latest version. For full instructions, see Create a Playlist:
-
Add songs to Now Playing on the right side of the window, then click the Save icon at the top of the column.
-
Use the right-click menu: in any list of songs on the Yahoo! Music Jukebox, right-click and select Add to a Playlist … then choose either a build new playlist or add the track to an existing playlist
-
Drag and drop: simply drag tracks, artists, albums or genres from the center pane into an existing playlist in the left pane. You can also drag music to the Playlists item in the left pane, and a new playlist will be automatically generated.
Your playlists are available anywhere you can log in to the web. You can access your own playlists on any machine connected to the Internet with the Yahoo! Music Jukebox loaded. Simply log in with your Yahoo! ID, and you can access your own playlists, anywhere. You can also send and view your playlists on the web. To send to a friend, use the buttons at the top right of the playlist and send by IM or email, or copy the link for use on a webpage, blog, etc. Your friends can then view the linked playlist on the web, and play all or some of the songs. You can use the link button to copy the playlists's web location, then paste it into a browser to view.
Using Playlists
Once you have created a playlist, click to open it under the Playlists item in the left navigation pane. Here are some of the things you can do with a playlist:
-
Play it immediately -- click Play playlist
-
Burn the playlist to CD -- click Burn playlist to CD (this feature will only appear if you have a CD burner/drive installed on your computer and a blank CD currently in the drive)
-
Send the playlist -- by IM to your friends on Messenger or by email. They can view it on the web as well.
-
Link -- copy the link (URL) to the playlist to insert it into an email message, place it on your blog, website, etc., so others can access it anywhere.
