Audio Boost

Audio Boost is a Yahoo! Music Jukebox Plus feature that optimizes the sound quality of your imported music files so you can enjoy them at their best. This feature will not enhance Yahoo! Music Unlimited tracks but will enhance any imported tracks from CDs. In addition to its sound enhancement properties, it also works in conjunction with the five-band equalizer to provide you with preset configurations that are specifically designed for a range of music styles. (You will need Windows Media Player 10 to use the Boost feature. If you don’t have WMP 10, you’ll be prompted to download the free update when you start Boost.)

To use Audio Boost:
  1. Click the Boost button at the top right side of the window, next to the equalizer.
  2. If you don't have Plus, you'll be prompted to sign up. You must have Plus to use this feature. If you have Plus but cannot access the feature, be sure you are signed in using the correct ID.
  3. The small blue indicator light will come on when Boost is enabled.
  4. At this point, any music you play will be enhanced by the effects you select in Presets or Advanced.

Presets
  1. Click the Presets button
  2. This opens a dialog box showing you a series of digital effects which can be applied automatically to enhance and improve the playback of your audio. Select any preset and click OK. Try experimenting with the different presets as your music plays (note there may be a few second delay before the effect becomes apparent).
  3. Clicking (none) and OK will turn off any presets.

Advanced
  1. Click the Advanced button
  2. This opens a dialog box showing you more detailed and advanced series of settings to achieve optimal audio effect. Note that the options under Presets are selected combinations of the settings you see under Advanced. Feel free to explore the different audio effects you see on this dialog, but you can simply use Presets to select a combination of these advanced settings to achieve a specific effect. Click the Presets button from this view to see the Presets again.
  3. You can also select specific settings for Voice playback from the Processing Mode menu.
  4. Click OK to accept the settings and close the dialog box.

Note: The 5-band equalizer allows you to adjust various frequency levels of all your music. The Boost feature provides more advanced digital effects across a wider range of outputs.
