Player Controls
The tools described below can be found in the player controls box at the top of the Yahoo! Music Jukebox.
Play Song:
With a song highlighted, click the large Play button on the left.
Pause Song:
Click the Pause button. Notice that the button changes. You can also choose Pause from the Controls menu. Click the button again to re-start the song.
Stop a song:
Click the Stop button. You can also choose Stop from the Controls menu. This option only appears in the menu if a song is currently playing.
Fast forward or rewind:
If a song is currently playing, drag the progress bar to the left (rewind) or the right (fast forward).
Skip a song:
If a song is currently playing, click the fast-forward button to skip one song forward or the back arrow button to skip backward one song.
Shuffle songs:
Clicking the Shuffle button in the controls window (it has two opposing arrows) tells the Yahoo! Music Jukebox to shuffle songs in a playlist or Now Playing. You can also select Shuffle from the Controls pulldown menu.
Repeat songs:
With either a single song or a playlist selected, click the Repeat button in the controls window to repeat the selection.
Play a song:
- Highlight the song in your playlist, in My Music, or a Y! Music Unlimited song.
- Right-click the song's name, then select Play. You can also highlight the song and click the Play button or drag-and-drop the song title onto Now Playing.
Stream a song from Yahoo! Music Unlimited:
- You must first be a Y! Music Unlimited subscriber.
- In the left-hand pane, click Y! Unlimited.
- You'll see the Y! Music Unlimited home page in the center pane. From this page, choose songs based upon recommendations by other users, recent albums, or by genre.
- Click the Play button anywhere you see it and enjoy music immediately.
- You may also search for music using the search box at the top of the page, and on the song results page. Click the Play button where ever available to stream the song immediately.
Stream a song from a web page:
- Copy (Ctrl+C) the URL of the song.
- Return to the Yahoo! Music Jukebox.
- From the File menu, select Play a URL...
- Paste (Ctrl+V) the URL into the dialog box, and click OK.
Get detailed information about songs:
- Select the song in your playlist, in My Music, or a Y! Music Unlimited song in My Recommendations.
- Right-click the song's name, then select Edit > Song Information to find out the artist's name, album, etc. (You can also edit the information in this view)
