There are a few differences between entering your username and password on a phone versus a computer. Here are a few suggestions for ensuring successful Yahoo! ID and password entries:
Many mobile phones have a short delay when entering text, especially when it requires the same key to be pressed to enter a character or number. Extra patience is often required when entering your user name and password.
Many mobile phones automatically capitalize letters. Be sure to confirm upper and lower case letters when entering your Yahoo! ID and password.
When entering your Yahoo! ID on Yahoo! Mobile login pages, do not add the @yahoo.com.
You can also confirm your Yahoo! ID and password is working by checking if you can login from a PC connected to the Internet. Here's how:
- From the computer's browser, enter the URL http://m.yahoo.com
- From Yahoo!'s frontpage, click Mail. You will get a Yahoo! login page.
- Log in with your Yahoo! ID and password.
You will be logged into your Yahoo! Mobile services.
If you are not successful in using Yahoo! Mobile services using the steps above, the problem might be caused by your password itself. Often, mobile devices have trouble with passwords that contain special characters, numbers, or capital letters. If your password contains any of these, log on to a PC and change your Yahoo! password so that it only contains lower case letters. This should fix the problem. If you are using an iPhone, you can find more information about the process in the article How do I set up access to Yahoo! Mail on my iPhone?.
