The Yahoo! Voice services differ from your traditional landline and mobile telephone service in a few important ways. The Yahoo! Voice services use VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) technology. With Yahoo! Voice services you can make calls from your computer to traditional landline and mobile telephones. You can also receive calls from traditional telephones on your computer. And finally, you can use our PC-to-PC voice feature to have voice conversations with other Yahoo! Messenger users.
The Yahoo! Voice services can only be used if your have a PC signed into Yahoo! Messenger, with a microphone and speakers or a headset. The Yahoo! Voice services will not work if you're not connected to the Internet, during any power outages, or if there are any Internet connectivity disruptions.
