In order to have Yahoo! Mail selected as your default mail client, you need to have installed the Yahoo! Browser Services bundled with Yahoo! Messenger.

If you've performed a custom install, or didn't install Yahoo! Messenger using the Suite Installer, you'll need to re-install Yahoo! Messenger using the Suite Installer. No problem – this is easy to do – and free.

If you choose to perform a custom installation, please make sure the "Yahoo! Browser Services" has been selected.

Once you've installed the Yahoo! Browser services, you'll need to configure Yahoo! Mail to be the default mail client. Here's how:

1. Close all applications including your web browser, or else the settings may not take immediate effect.
2. Click "Start."
3. Select "Settings" and then "Control Panel."
4. Double-click "Internet Options."
5. Click the "Programs" tab.
6. Select the preferred "E-mail:" client from the drop-down menu.
7. Click "OK" to close the Internet Options window.
