How do I forward my Messenger calls to my mobile or landline?

Great rates. Freedom from being connected to the computer. Good idea.

Here’s how to forward Messenger calls to your mobile or landline:

  1. At the top of the Messenger window, click the button with the phone icon and the words, “Yahoo! Voice” on it.
  2. Move your pointer over “Call Forwarding” and in the menu that opens, click Add a Number…. (If you’ve already added a number, you’ll see it listed. Just click it to start forwarding calls to that number.)
  3. Follow the steps to activate the number to which you'd like to forward calls.
  4. Once you've activated call forwarding, you don’t need to be signed-in to Messenger to receive calls. In fact, your computer can be off completely.

Please note: You'll incur Phone-Out charges when Messenger phone calls are forwarded, so you'll need a Phone Out account. Calls forwarded to landline phones won't incur an additional charge, but calls forwarded to mobile numbers may count as minutes used, depending on the plan you've purchased from your mobile carrier.

Sign out of mobile and back into your computer

Here’s how to stop getting Yahoo! Voice calls on your mobile and revert to receiving calls through your computer:

  1. At the top of the Messenger window, click the button with the phone icon and the words, “Yahoo! Voice” on it.
  2. Move your pointer over “Call Forwarding.”
  3. In the menu that opens, click Disabled.

Calls you get via Yahoo! Voice will now come through your computer, not your mobile.
