When you enter a URL (or Web address) of a video, map, or picture into the Conversation window of Yahoo! Messenger, it automatically recognizes whether the URL is a video, a map, or a picture. Yahoo! Messenger then opens it in the Conversation window.
First, you'll need to copy the URL from your Web browser (such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, or Chrome) and then paste it into the Conversation window.
How to copy a URL from a Web browser and paste it into the Conversation window:
- Copy the URL (a URL starts with "http://") from the Address bar in your Web browser by highlighting the URL (click and drag your pointer over it) and press CTRL+C on your keyboard.
- Paste the URL into the input area of the Conversation window by clicking in the input area and then pressing CTRL+V on your keyboard.
For videos, click Watch With Me to watch it together with your friend at the same time. For a map or a picture, click View Larger to open it in a new browser window.
Note: Versions of Yahoo! Messenger 9.0 and higher currently support some of the larger video sharing sites like YouTube and Yahoo! Video, as well as Yahoo! Maps and Google Maps. Over time, more services will be supported.
