Yes! Plug-ins are fun, functional mini-programs that plug in to Yahoo! Messenger. Offering conveniences like co-browsing the web (shop together!), sharing huge files, and keeping up to the minute with auctions, plug-ins take advantage of Messenger’s unique ability to be “now”. There are two types:

Conversation Activities

Conversation activities are plug-ins that help you share stuff and do stuff with friends while you’re in a Messenger conversation. View a map or web site at the same time. Check out upcoming events. Play games together… and much more. These plug-ins appear in the conversation window, to the right of the messaging area. Click the Activities button at the top of the conversation window to view the available activities.

Tab Plug-ins

Tab plug-ins keep you up-to-the-minute on things like auctions, news, sports, your Yahoo! Calendar and Yahoo! Finance portfolio. You can watch video or order items… and much more. Look below your Messenger list to open these Plug-Ins’ sliding windows.

We’ll be adding new plug-ins all the time (so check back often). Some will come from Yahoo! developers. Others are being invented by Messenger users like you. All it takes is a good idea!
