Why is there an echo?

Echoes happen-APPEN when your voice-OICE is picked up by friend's microphone-ICROPHONE and transmitted-MITTED back to you-YOU. Have you tried using a headset? That often takes care of the echo. But if you prefer to use speakers and a microphone instead, you can try one or more of the following methods to reduce “far-end” echo problems (the person who needs to do this is not the person hearing the echo-ECHO, but the person at the far end of the conversation):

  • Move the microphone as far away from the speakers as is practical.
  • Reduce the microphone level (use the volume control on the left, below the "Talk" button). Try talking directly into the microphone to be heard clearly.
  • Reduce the speaker level (use the volume control on the right).
