You can add up to 300 contacts to your Messenger List.

Note: If you add a contact to your Messenger List, the contact is also added to your address book.

To add a contact to your Messenger List:

1. Start in any one of the following three ways:
• Click the "Add" icon (Smiley with plus sign) located on the Messenger toolbar.
• Click the "Contacts" menu located in the IM window and select "Add a contact."
• Click the Plus icon located to the right of the sender's ID in the IM window. Then skip to step 3.
2. Enter a Yahoo! ID or Yahoo! Mail address of the contact. (If you do not know the Yahoo! ID or Yahoo! Mail address of the contact, enter their email address. The contact you are attempting to add will receive an email invitation.)
3. Click the "Next" button.
4. Select the group and identity you would like to add this contact under. You may also include a brief message along with the request.
5. Click the "Finish" button.

Note: The contact is automatically notified and given the option to allow or deny the add request. If the contact denies your request, they will no longer appear in your Messenger List.
