What if my friend hasn't upgraded Yahoo! Messenger?
If you are in an IM conversation with someone using an older version of Yahoo! Messenger, certain features may not be available.
Your Yahoo! Messenger will automatically detect that the other person is using a different version, and it won't display buttons for features that are unavailable. Menu items will still be displayed but will be grayed out to show that they can't be used.
