How do I select/create a status message?
To select a status message:
- Click the status chooser at the top of the Yahoo! Messenger and select one of the following:
- Available
- Busy
- Stepped Out
- Be Right Back
- Not at My Desk
- On the Phone
To create your own custom status message:
- Click the status chooser at the top of the Yahoo! Messenger and select "New Status Message."
- Type your custom status message (such as "back in 5 minutes") and then click the "OK" button.
- Click on the "Show Busy Icon" box if you want the busy icon displayed.
- Your custom status message will appear after your Yahoo! ID.
Note: Old custom status messages will be deleted as you create new ones.
