Help not helping? OK, let's see...Contacting customer care depends on which version of Messenger you use.
Below, you'll find avenues for contacting customer care for issues with Messenger on Windows or Mac, issues with Messenger's paid voice services, issues with web Messenger, and also info on Yahoo! Answers for Messenger.
Windows
We’re glad to answer your questions about version 8 and above of Yahoo! Messenger for Windows. To see which version you have, login to Messenger, click Help in the upper-right corner, and click About Yahoo! Messenger. You’ll see Yahoo! Messenger followed by some numbers inside of parentheses -- for example: (8.0.0.71). The first two numbers show your version. If you see a number less than 8.0, we highly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version. Upgrading is free! Just go to http://messenger.yahoo.com, click Get it Now, and follow the install instructions.
Yahoo! Phone In and Yahoo! Phone Out users
If you’re signed up for Yahoo! Phone In or Yahoo! Phone Out, feel free to chat live with a customer care agent right now. Live online chat is a handy new support tool specifically for premium voice users. To chat with an agent, just login to your Yahoo! Voice account at http://voice.yahoo.com/voice_help.php and click Live chat help on the right side of the page. A live chat window opens and a friendly agent will be with you in a few seconds. Remember, this support option is ONLY available to paid Yahoo! Phone In and Yahoo! Phone Out users. If you try to login to this page without a premium voice account, you’ll hit a roadblock.

Ask Other Yahoo! Messenger Users
Tap into the growing reservoir of knowledge that’s being created by Yahoo! Messenger users in
Yahoo! Answers. Your keywords (like “webcam” or “voice”) or phrase (like “how do I start my webcam”) brings up a quick list of real peoples’ answers to questions like yours.
If you can’t find a near-enough match to your question, click Ask in the upper-left corner. You’ll be prompted to sign in with your Yahoo! ID – and then you can ask your question directly. It’s kind of like leaning over to the person sitting next to you and asking them if they’ve figured out what you’re struggling with. Also, once you sign in you can answer other peoples’ questions!
The first time you sign into Answers, choose a nickname (anything!) and choose an image to show (again – your choice. Or nothing!). Then tell us which email address we should use to send you answers to your questions.
