JavaScript is a simple programming language that's essential to any modern Internet site. Without JavaScript enabled, the Yahoo! Mail client may not perform as designed. To fix this, make sure that you have JavaScript enabled. Here's how:
Internet Explorer 6.0:
- From the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- Click the Security tab.
- Click Internet to select the Internet Zone.
- Click Custom Level.
- Scroll down the list until you see the section labeled Scripting
- Under Active Scripting, select Enable.
- Click the OK button at the bottom of the Internet Options window.
- Close and relaunch your Internet browser.
Internet Explorer 7.0 & 8.0:
- From the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- Click the Security tab.
- Click Internet to select the Internet Zone.
- Click Custom Level.
- Scroll down the list until you see the section labeled Scripting
- Select Enable for Active Scripting scroll down the list and select Scripting of Java Applets.
- Click OK.
- If prompted to confirm select Yes
- Click the OK button at the bottom of the Internet Options window.
- Close and relaunch your Internet browser.

Internet Explorer 9.0:
- Open IE 9.0, and select Tools > Manage Add-ons.
- Then make sure the pull-down menu at the top reflects Show: Currently loaded add-ons.
- Select J2SE Runtime Environment or Java within the main pane, and at the bottom-right of the Manage Add-ons window
- Click the Enable button.
- Click close.
- Please close and re-open IE 9.0.
NOTE: If you do not see a menu bar with "File", "Edit", "View", etc, then click the gear icon in the upper right corner of your browser window and select "Manage add-ons..."
If you cannot locate J2SE Runtime Environment or Java within the main pane, please reinstall Java , and then conduct the above troubleshooting steps.
Firefox:
- From the Tools menu, select Options.
- Click the Content tab.
- Select both the Enable JavaScript and Enable Java options.
- Click OK.
- Close and relaunch your Internet browser.

Safari:
- Click the Safari menu on a Macintosh, click on the Edit menu on a Windows based computer, select Preferences.
- Click Security.
- Select the Enable JavaScript option.
- Click OK.
- Close and relaunch your Internet browser.

Google Chrome:
Launch Google Chrome from Start/Run with the parameter -enable-JavaScript.
For example, in Vista:
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe -enable-JavaScript
For example, in Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome -enable-JavaScript
Note: JavaScript is enabled in Chrome by default. This will reset the default parameters.
