POP Yahoo! Mail Plus with Microsoft Outlook 2007

Replace an article

You have reached the maximum number of saved articles. Your oldest saved article will be replaced with the new one.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Tools and Account Settings – below the E-mail tab click New
  2. Choose E-mail Service. Click on the Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP radio button
  3. Click the manually configure server settings or additional server types check box. This will automatically enter in all of the required fields
  4. Click next
  5. Click on the Internet E-mail bubble. Click next
  6. Enter the following information:

    Your Name: Display Name you want to use, for example, Jo Bloggs
    Email address: Full email address, for example, jo.bloggs@yahoo.com
    Incoming Server: Contact your ISP or Hosting Company for this setting. (See note below if your mail provider is Yahoo!)
    Outgoing Mail server: Contact your ISP or Hosting Company for this setting. (See note below if your mail provider is Yahoo!)
    User name: The first portion of your email address, for example, jo.bloggs@domain.com
    Password: Your email account password

Note: If your mail provider is either yahoo.com, rocketmail.com, or ymail.com then the incoming and outgoing settings are as follows:

  • Incoming Mail Server pop.mail.yahoo.com
  • Outgoing Mail Server smtp.mail.yahoo.com

If your mail server requires SMTP Authentication, follow these steps. If you are not sure if your mail server requires SMTP Authentication, please contact your hosting company or ISP:

  1. Click on More Settings
  2. Navigate to the Outgoing Server tab
  3. Check My Outgoing Server requires SMTP Authentication
  4. Click OK
  5. Click on Next
  6. Click on Finish
