Troubleshooting tips
If you still can’t send Yahoo! Mail from Outlook 98 or Outlook 2000, you may be accessing the Internet through an ISP that is blocking the SMTP port. If this is the case, try using port 587 when sending email via Yahoo!'s SMTP server. To make this change:
- From the Tools menu, select Accounts. If you do not see Accounts, place your cursor over the two arrows at the bottom of the list to display more choices.
- Click the Mail tab.
- Select the pop.mail.yahoo.com account and click Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- In the Outgoing Server (SMTP) box, type 587.
- Click Apply, and then click OK to close the dialog box.
- Click Close to close the dialog box.
