The Verification process is a necessary step to prevent spammers from sending you unwanted messages across the Yahoo! network. Do you remember the days when you inbox was filled with dozens and dozens of spam emails? Well, part of the reason that is no longer the case is this process.

The following is a list of items that may cause you to get the verification screen:

  • Emails that have HTML code in them.
  • Links to other web sites.
  • Embedded graphics.
  • Attachments.
  • Forwarded messages (chain letters, jokes, etc.).
  • A high volume of outbound messages.

If you’re having difficulty reading the verification screen please take a look at: What if I can't read the Verification letters or numbers?

For more on this verification process please read: What is CAPTCHA?

If you still have questions, you can get help from fellow users by joining the discussion (or leveraging the archives) on the user run “Y-Mail” discussion group or by asking a question on the Yahoo! Mail category of Yahoo! Answers .

However, if after taking the steps recommended above, you are still having issues, please contact Yahoo! Customer Care using this form.
