Yes, you can convert a text message to an email as well as to a chat conversation!

Click the envelope icon at the top of the window to convert your chat conversation to an email. Meanwhile, if the person you're sending an email to logs into chat, click on the chat bubble icon to start chatting. If you don't have the person's email address or chat ID in your Contacts, you'll be asked to complete the "To:" field manually.
