You can configure your POP3 client to leave messages on the Yahoo! Mail server or to delete them from the server. Check the instructions for configuring POP settings for your mail client.
To learn the steps, select from the list of supported clients:

- From the Tools menu, choose Email Accounts.
- Select the radio button next to "Add a new email account" and click the Next button.
- Select your Yahoo! Mail account and click Properties.
- Select the Advanced tab.
- In the Delivery section at the bottom of the window, is the box next to "Leave a copy of messages on server" checked? Good…if you want to keep your messages on the server. If you want to delete your messages from the Yahoo! Mail server, un-check this box.

- From the Tools menu, select Accounts.
- Click the Mail tab.
- Select your Yahoo! Mail account and click Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Check "Leave a copy of messages on server" if you want to keep your Yahoo! Mail messages on the Yahoo! Mail server. If you want your messages to be deleted from the Yahoo! Mail server after you've downloaded them in Outlook Express, don't check this box.
- Click OK.
- Close Microsoft Outlook, and reboot.

- Select your Yahoo! Mail account and click Properties.

If you want your messages to be deleted from the Yahoo! Mail server after you've downloaded them in Outlook Express, don't check this box.

- Select your Yahoo! Mail account and click Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Check "Leave a copy of messages on server" if you want to save your Yahoo! Mail messages on the Yahoo! Mail server. If you want your messages to be deleted from the Yahoo! Mail server after you've downloaded them in IncrediMail, don't check this box.

- Click the Tools menu and select Options.
- Click the picture on the left that says "Incoming Mail."
- Check "Delete from server after…" if you want your messages to be deleted from the Yahoo! Mail server after you've downloaded them in Eudora. However, if you want to save your Yahoo! Mail messages on the Yahoo! Mail server, don't check this box.

- From the Edit menu, select Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings.
- In the Account Settings window, select Server Settings in the left column.
- Toward the bottom of the window, check the box next to "Leave messages on server." If you don't want to keep a copy of messages on the Yahoo! server, uncheck this box.

- From the Edit menu, select Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings.
- In the Account Settings window, select Server Settings in the left column.

- To set POP3 mail server properties, click the Mail Server Properties panel and choose the POP tab.
- Check "Leave messages on server after retrieval" if you want to store messages on both the Yahoo! Mail server and your computer.
- Check "When deleting messages locally…" if you want to leave messages on the Yahoo! Mail server.
- Click OK.

To change your Mac Mail email client delivery settings using Microsoft Internet Mail for Macintosh:
- Click Mail on the menu bar at the top of the screen and point to Preferences.
- Click the Accounts tab and click the Advanced button.
- Make sure the box next to “Remove copy from server after retrieving a message” is un-checked.
- Close the Accounts screen.
