Replace an article

You have reached the maximum number of saved articles. Your oldest saved article will be replaced with the new one.

If you want to POP your Yahoo! Mail Plus into Microsoft Outlook Express for Macintosh, here's how:

  1. From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
  2. Select the "Mail" tab.
  3. Click the "Add" button.
  4. From the Add menu, click "Mail."
  5. Click the “Configure account manually” button.
  6. Select “POP” and click the “OK” button
  7. In the Name text box, type your name
  8. In the email address box, enter your Yahoo! Mail address, including the "@yahoo.com."
  9. In the Account ID box, enter your Yahoo! Mail address, including the "@yahoo.com."
  10. In the POP server box, type: plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
  11. In the Password box, type your Yahoo! Mail password.
  12. Click “Click here for advanced receiving options”
  13. Check the box next to “this POP service requires a secure connection (SSL)”. The port number should automatically change from 110 to 995. If it doesn’t, make sure the port number is set to 995.
  14. Close this portion of the dialog box
  15. In the SMTP box, type: plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
  16. Click “Click here for advanced receiving options
  17. Check the box next to 'SMTP service requires secure connection (SSL).'
  18. Check the box next to 'Override default SMTP port,' and enter '465' in the 'Port:' field.
  19. Check the box next to 'SMTP server requires authentication.'
  20. Leave the default 'Use same settings as incoming mail server' button
  21. Close this portion of the dialogue box, and then close the configuration dialogue box.

To control deletion of messages from the Yahoo! Mail Server, follow these steps:

  1. From the Tools menu, choose "Account."
  2. Select the "Mail" tab.
  3. Double-click the account labeled "plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com."
  4. Select the "Options" tab.
  5. In the Server Options section at the bottom of the window, check "Leave a copy of each message on the server" if you want to save your Yahoo! Mail messages on both the Yahoo! Mail server and on your local computer. If you would prefer to have your messages deleted from the Yahoo! Mail server after you have received them in Outlook Express, do not check this box.
