POP access
With POP3 access, download your Yahoo! Mail Plus messages to your desktop email application, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, or Thunderbird.

Mail forwarding
Forward email to another address—even another Yahoo! address.

Yahoo! AddressGuard
Have you ever typed in a completely bogus email address when filling out a form? It's not a bad strategy, but you'll never hear back from whomever you gave the bogus address to…and every once in a while, you actually might want to. This is where Yahoo! AddressGuard from Yahoo! Mail Plus comes in handy.

Create disposable email addresses to use whenever you don't want to give out your real Yahoo! Mail address (like for an online purchase). Messages sent to your disposable email addresses arrive in your Inbox, where you can decide what to do with them. You can also set up a filter to direct them to other folders.

If any of your disposable email addresses starts getting spam, you can simply delete the address and messages sent there start bouncing instead of filling up your account.

Send messages from any of your email accounts
Do you use multiple email accounts, say, for work, personal mail, and groups? Now you can send all your email from one place, but still choose which account it comes from. When you add and verify an email address, it is added to the "From" pull-down menu on the "Compose" page. When you write a message, just select the return address you want to use, and that's the one the recipient will see. This is especially useful if you check external (POP) mail and reply to emails that were sent to you at a different email address.

No promotional taglines in messages
Whether you choose to send your email through Yahoo! Mail or through a POP3 client, with Yahoo! Mail Plus all of your sent messages are free from ad taglines.

No graphical ads
When you're in Yahoo! Mail Plus, your experience is free of banner-ad distractions.

No account expiration
By subscribing to Yahoo! Mail Plus, your account won't go dormant—even if you don't use it for a long period of time.
