Yahoo! Mail automatically scans most file types you attach to an outgoing email.

If we find a virus in a file you're attaching, a window appears telling you we've detected a virus. If we can clean the file, we'll tell you in the red virus alert box. The virus will be removed from the version of the file you're attaching, but will not be removed from the actual file on your computer's hard drive. If you send that file again in another email message it will still have the virus, unless it's cleaned again. The red virus alert box tells you if Norton AntiVirus has not been able to clean the file. If you see the virus box, click the "More Info & Disclaimer" link to learn more about the virus that was found.

If your file cannot be cleaned, we strongly recommend that you do not send the attachment, but instead click the garbage can icon next to the name of the attachment. This deletes the infected attachment.

This virus scanner might not be able to detect or repair all viruses and variants. Please be aware that there is a risk involved whenever downloading email attachments to your computer or sending email attachments to others. As provided in the Terms of Service, neither Yahoo! nor its licensors are responsible for any damages caused by your decision to do so.
