Use these General Preferences to customize how you view, send, and receive messages.
Name and Email
From Name: Change the way your name appears on messages you send by editing this field.
Reply To: Enter a different return address for replies to messages that you send, if you'd like them to go elsewhere.
Folders/Search Results
Message Ordering: Sort your incoming messages in descending order (new messages appear at the top of your inbox or other folders) or ascending (new messages appear at the bottom).
Messages/results per page: Show 10, 25, 50, 100, or 200 messages on one screen. If there are more than this number of messages in a folder, you can see the rest by clicking Next in the upper or lower-right corner of the message list.
Special Folders: Un-check saving your sent messages to your Sent folder if you don't want to save your sent messages; un-check "Redirect incoming unsolicited mail to the Bulk Mail folder" if you'd rather get unsolicited mail right in your Inbox. We recommend that you keep "Redirect incoming unsolicited mail to the Bulk Mail folder" checked, to minimize spam.
Composing E-mails
Mode: Choose to compose messages using "color and graphics" (Rich Text) or "plain text". You can also switch back and forth when you're composing a message, by clicking above the message window in the upper-right. Just click Rich Text or Plain Text.
Messages
Yahoo! Shortcuts: When a word is underlined in your email, it means there’s a Yahoo! Shortcut waiting to save you time. By hovering over the underlined word or phrase with your pointer, you’ll see a little menu of things to do—like adding someone’s info to your address book, getting a map of an address, or searching for more info on a topic.
In this section, you can select which shortcuts you'd like to activate—if any. If you don't want any, select "Do not show me Yahoo! Shortcuts".
Message Actions
Moving/deleting messages: sets how you navigate through messages. After you read and delete (or move) a message, you can either continue to the next message, or return to the original folder.
