A Direct Employer is a company that is looking to fill internal positions. These jobs are posted directly by the companies that are hiring. The job seeker sends a resume directly to the company.

A Staffing Firm is a company of professional recruiters dedicated to filling available positions at corporations. They work on behalf of the client company to recruit, interview, and assess the available talent. This includes headhunters, temporary staffing agencies, and executive recruiters.

A Commercial company posts listings on Monster+HotJobs that may be related to the job search process, but they may not be standard, full-time W-2 jobs. The listings may include work-at-home business opportunities, training and education offers, sales kits, etc. There may be fees associated with these opportunities and offers.

In order to distinguish which type of jobs you view, you can do 1 of 2 things:

  1. Before you search: Click on the Job Search tab, select Advanced Search and then select the appropriate company type from the dropdown menu.
  2. While viewing search results: You can also make the distinction once you are viewing your job matches by selecting the appropriate company type under the Job Source section of the Guided Search on the lefthand side of your screen.
