Monster+HotJobs offers you various ways to search for thousands of jobs. You can begin your search on the homepage, in the "Search Jobs" section, by entering a Keyword or phrase, Job Category, and/or City/State or Zip.
If you desire more in depth search options, click on the "Job Search" tab. On the next page you can perform a quick job search or advanced job search. You can also choose to search by company or search international jobs or browse by industry.
Quick Job Search: When you click on the "Job Search" tab you will be taken to the Quick Job Search page. Under the Quick Job Search section, start by entering keywords that describe the type of job you are looking for. Try entering more than one keyword if your search results are too broad. Use quotation marks to search for a specific string of words such as "Financial Analyst."
Using the City and State field, you can limit your search to a specific geographic area. For instance, if you are looking for jobs in and around the San Francisco area, simply start typing San Francisco into the City/State box and the system will guess what you are writing. Select the appropriate city/state option. If you want to search for jobs nationwide, leave the City and State fields blank.
You can select a job category to search or leave the field blank to search all job categories. Click the "Search Jobs" button to perform your search.
Advanced Search: This is the most inclusive job search option. Not all fields are required; however the more search criteria you specify, the narrower your search results will be. Like the Quick Job Search, the Advanced Search allows you to search using keywords, location, and job category. The Advanced Search also allows you to use additional Boolean functionality in the keyword section, search multiple locations and categories, search for specific salaries, experience level, education level, distinguish jobs from employers, staffing firms, and commercial opportunities, and jobs updated within a certain time period. To access the Advanced Job Search, click on the "Job Search" tab at the top of our homepage. On the Job Search page, click the "Advanced Job Search" link; this will take you to the Advanced Job Search page.
Search by Company: In this section you can search through the companies that are members of HotJobs. You may search by company name, city/state location, industry and company size. You can also choose to search companies alphabetically.
Search International Jobs: This section allows you to search for job listings outside of the U.S. You may choose to search within the whole country, view jobs in a specific city/province within that country or search by keyword.
Once you view your job matches, our Guided Search tool provides you with easy choices to progressively narrow the job market to the jobs that fit your qualifications. You can narrow your search by location, job categories, when the job was last updated, job type, experience, and company to find exactly the right opportunities.
