Depending on the goals of your job search, you can choose a variety of settings that might affect the availability of information you've included in your resume. Our system is unique in that it allows you to block some or all of our member companies from viewing your resume—ideal if you want to keep your job search confidential.

With our HotBlock feature, you can store your resume in the database, but not allow it to be searched by any employers or staffing firms. Not allowing your resume to be searchable means that you can submit your resume to a featured job result that does not link off Monster+HotJobs, but it is not searchable through the resume database.

In addition, you can store your resume in the database, but not allow it to be searched by certain employers or staffing firms who are members of Monster+HotJobs at the time you set your HotBlock preferences. This means that you can submit your resume to a featured job result that does not link off Monster+HotJobs, but those employers or staffing firms whom you have blocked do not have access to search it through the resume database.

If you allow your resume to be searchable, then those individuals or organizations who pay for access to the resume database, plus prospective customers who are receiving a demonstration of our product, have access to your resume. These individuals or organizations can distribute your resume to their own hiring systems via email.

It's our intention that only paying or prospective customers have access to the resume database, but Monster+HotJobs can't guarantee that other parties will not, without our consent, gain access to this database.

You can remove your resume from the searchable database at any time. However, employers and recruiters who have paid for access to the database, and other parties who have otherwise gained access to the database, might have retained a copy of your resume in their own files or databases. Monster+HotJobs is not responsible for the retention, use, or privacy of resumes in these instances or for the use or privacy of resumes by any of such parties while resumes are in the database.
