Due to the nature of rotisserie scoring, dramatic day-to-day changes to the league standings are rare after the first month of the season. As teams begin to distance themselves from the teams ahead of and behind them in each category, it is not uncommon for the standings to remain unchanged from day to day.

As a rotisserie manager, it is your responsibility to monitor the league standings to determine which categories might help you gain ground in the standings. For example, if you lead your 12-team league in penalty minutes, you have 12 rotisserie points in that category. Since that is the maximum value available for any single category in a 12-team league, you receive no benefit from widening your lead in that category.

Alternatively, you might rank fifth in goalie wins and the separation between first and fifth might be as few as five total wins. Passing those four teams ahead of you would result in a four-point shift in the standings, again provided that you do not lose ground in any other categories. Trades, add/drops and lineup changes should be made with consideration given toward your ranking in each category.
