What is a questionnaire and why would I use one?

A questionnaire is a series of questions and answers (multiple choice, select all that apply, yes/no, true/false, or write-in) that can be attached to a job as a way of obtaining additional information about candidates. Using questionnaires is entirely optional. You create the questions, specify correct answers, assign a numerical value to each question and determine the minimum total value needed to get a passing score.

When candidates apply to your job, the questionnaire will automatically appear and they will not be able to complete the application without completing the questionnaire. When the application is submitted, only those who receive a passing score on the questionnaire will be displayed in your list of job candidates (by default). However, all those who apply will be captured in the Yahoo! HotJobs database, and you can set the default to display all applications regardless of questionnaire score. You can use the score as part of the customized email subject line, if you have resumes forwarded to you by email.
