Introducing the Yahoo! HotJobs Recruitment Center

What’s New

Following are some of the enhancements you’ll encounter in the new Yahoo! HotJobs Recruitment Center. For additional information, please contact your Sales Representative or click on Help in the upper right corner from any page within Yahoo! HotJobs.

New Account Administrator and Recruiter Roles

Based on customer feedback, Yahoo! HotJobs now has two distinct roles for users: Account Administrator and Recruiter. The Account Administrator is responsible for managing your company’s users, products, company profile pages and account information.

Recruiters are responsible for using the products assigned to them by their Administrator and managing their jobs and candidates on a day-to-day basis. A Recruiter does not have access to profile pages and cannot add products or change company account information. A Recruiter can, however, change his/her password and personal information.

Each account may have multiple Account Administrators and Recruiters.

Utilizing Templates

Templates are designed to help you and your organization increase your productivity and save time. Job, Email, and Questionnaire templates can be created once, reused multiple times, and shared across the account by Account Administrators to encourage corporate best practices. Click on the Tools tab to find templates.

  • Questionnaire Templates - You can create reusable questionnaire templates to screen candidates. Questions can be created as Multiple Choice, Select All That Apply, Yes/No, and True/False. You will be able to view all job candidates who complete a questionnaire and their scores.

  • Job Templates - You have the ability to build a job template, plus edit and copy the job template as needed. This can be very helpful when you have multiple, similar positions to post.

  • Email Templates - You can also create email templates that can be used to communicate uniformly to job candidates. This can be a time-saver when communicating with multiple candidates.

Allocating Products & Search Licenses

With the new Account Administrator role, you can implement additional controls in the Yahoo! HotJobs Recruitment Center.

Pooled vs. Distributed Products
  • Account Administrators can choose to keep products (e.g. Job Posts, Job Slots) in either a pooled or distributed state depending on how much control you would like your individual recruiters to have.

  • Distributed State - Account Administrators have the ability to assign products in their account to specific recruiters in the organization. To allocate products, go to the Company Products link in the Accounts tab and click Distribute.

  • Pooled State - In a pooled state, all users have access to all pooled product credits.

Allocating Search Licenses

Much like allocating distributed products, Account Administrators can distribute search licenses to recruiters within their organization. To distribute licenses, go to the Accounts tab and then select Company Products. You will be able to distribute licenses to individual recruiters.

Reporting

A new feature available in the Yahoo! HotJobs Recruitment Center is Reports, found by clicking on the Tools tab. Reports enable you to understand how your jobs are performing and which candidates are applying to your jobs. Account Administrators can use Reports to measure the success rate at which your recruiters find candidates to fill positions. Reports can provide success metrics for you and your organization.

Account Administrators and Recruiters have access to different reports. Both can generate Job Performance, Candidate Pool Profiles, and Posted Job Profiles. Administrators can also access Job Import reports and can run reports for all jobs from the company.

Search All Candidates or Just Your Own

Click on the Search tab and you’ll see that you can now choose to search within the Yahoo! HotJobs Resume database or search only within your own candidate pool – those who’ve applied to your jobs or are in your folders.

Enhanced Advanced Search

This Advanced Search functionality gives you the flexibility to refine your search for the right candidate as much, or as little, as you want. Advanced Search adds several new criteria, which you can use to narrow your search: Mile Radius Search, Security Clearance, Previous Employer, and Search by Resume Age Range. You can reach Advanced Search through the Search tab.

New Features in Search Results

Search results appear in order of relevancy in the Yahoo! HotJobs Recruitment Center. In order to quickly see resumes in chronological order, click on the Edited link to change the list from most recent to oldest, or vice versa.

  • Narrow the Results - The Narrow the Results menu appears on the right side of the Search Results page. This panel includes Read vs. Unread (after you have read at least one resume), Edited Within (Days), Star Rating, Experience level, Salary, and Category. Check or uncheck these options to refine your search results in real time.

  • My Rating - You can quickly rate candidates. The star rating that you assign by simply selecting the appropriate star stays with the candidate throughout your account. This rating system enables you to keep track of previously reviewed candidates.

  • Copy To – The Copy To dropdown allows you to easily add qualified candidates to the appropriate folder for your job candidate pool. Candidates from the resume database can now be copied and attached to a specific job listing. The candidates will be marked as “sourced” in the candidate list.

  • Brief and Detailed view options – In the Detailed view, Most Recent Employer is a new field.

Company Profiles

As an Account Administrator you can now create a three-tab Company Profile to provide the most compelling information about your organization to encourage job seekers to apply. The Company Profile link is found under the Accounts tab.

You select the tab titles and content. Sample tab titles might be: 1) Our Company, 2) Our Culture, and 3) Our Benefits. Each tab provides 15,000 characters to use to provide information and promote your organization as an employer of choice.

You may have multiple profiles, as well. The Yahoo! HotJobs Recruitment Center is designed to support a company with multiple divisions and multiple profiles. You can purchase as many company profile credits as you need.

Homepage

The new Yahoo! HotJobs Homepage includes many new and enhanced features. The Homepage includes key features that help you navigate across the site and manage your products. A few important features include:

  • Posted Jobs - gives you an overview of your recently posted jobs. This can include both job post and job slot products. You can directly link to a specific job by clicking on the Job Title.

  • Resumes- identifies the number of New (since last log-in), Read, and Unread resumes within your job candidate pool. Quick link takes you directly to the job candidate pool for that job.

  • Star Rating Count - indicates how many candidates within that job candidate pool have a 5-star rating.

  • Display Option - provides you with the ability to see 5, 8, or 10 jobs in the Posted Jobs overview.

  • My Products - gives you a summary of the products you currently have available to you and provides a quick link to purchase additional product. This feature is available for Account Administrators.

  • Tips and Training - provides links to helpful tools to help simplify your recruiting efforts.

  • Quick Search - allows you to search right from the Homepage, now with the ability to search by zip code.

  • My Saved Searches - lists quick links to three Saved Searches.

  • My Folders - lists quick links to the three most recently created Personal Folders. You can still have multiple Personal Folders to manage your jobs and candidates.

  • Job Activity Reports - quick link to job performance reports.

  • Post a Job - you can still quickly post a job from the Homepage using the Post a Job button.

Navigating the Site

When using Yahoo! HotJobs, avoid using the back button in your browser. Instead use the navigation bar. The navigation bar enables you to see how far into each section you have gone. You can quickly move back and forth between screens.
