The Sync command assures that your Yahoo! Mail contacts and the contacts in your device are both up-to-date. When Yahoo! Go 2.0 detects a difference, it offers you the opportunity to use the Sync command. The synchronization takes a little while, depending on the number of changes. Choose OK to acknowledge the synchronization when it's finished.

Note: Some devices do not support the Address Book backup or Sync features, and Yahoo! Go 2.0 can't determine beforehand that these features won't work on these devices.

Yahoo! Go 2.0 automatically performs a synchronization process when started. However, Calendar, Task, and Event data do not require synchronization. Performing a search function will retrieve the information.

To check email and start the synchronization process for Yahoo! Mail in Yahoo! Go 2.0, do the following:

  1. Start Yahoo! Go 2.0 and make sure that you are signed into your account.
  2. Scroll left to the Mail widget with the envelope icon and click it to open Yahoo! Go 2.0 Mail.
  3. Choose Options.
  4. Choose Check email from the list. Yahoo! Go 2.0 will begin synchronizing your Yahoo! Mail to the Mail widget.

Depending on the number of emails to update from Yahoo! Mail, it may take a while to fully synchronize the data.

Notes:

  • If you change your Yahoo! ID password, the next time you start Yahoo! Go 2.0 , it will prompt you for your username and password. This will ensure that you are correctly logging into your Yahoo! Mail account.
  • If your phone does not support file access, Yahoo! Go 2.0 will be unable to synchronize with Yahoo! Mail.
  • If you do not see network activity on your phone, confirm you have the correct mobile gateway settings on your phone and quality phone reception from your location.
  • If your phone has its own mail application, its mail and calendar entries are not altered by Yahoo! Go 2.0. These entries remain in your phone's mail application.
