ColorFeature indicated
Red lineLimited access highway (also known as controlled access roads). These are roads that have limited access to the properties along the road, hence the name limited access. Controlled access comes from the fact that these roads can only be entered or exited via ramps or equivalent slip roads.
Orange lineMajor highway (very few crossing roads, limited speed changes; also used for important connectors between limited access highways)
Yellow or yellow-orange line Secondary highway (more crossing roads and speed changes when going through cities and towns)
Thick gray line (or thick white with a gray border)Arterial street (provide connectivity into and between neighborhoods)
Thin gray line (or thin white with a gray border)Residential street
Green line Toll road
Purple lineYour driving directions
