How do I edit my web page?

You can edit your page by opening the page in one of the Yahoo! tools, such as PageBuilder, your own site building software (if you have a GeoCities Plus), or File Manager.

To launch any of your Yahoo! tools or File Manager, visit the Create & Update tab of your GeoCities Control Panel. If you used one of our online tools to create your page, you can also launch your editor by clicking the icon for that tool next to the page name in File Manager.

To edit a page you already created in PageWizards:

  1. Click the PageWizards link on the Create & Update tab of your GeoCities Control Panel.
  2. Click a template to launch the tool.
  3. On the starting page, select "Edit existing page," then use the pull-down menu to choose the existing page you want to edit.
  4. Complete the PageWizards steps to modify your existing page.

To edit a page you already created in PageBuilder:

  1. Click the PageBuilder link on the Create & Update tab of your GeoCities Control Panel.
  2. Click the "Launch PageBuilder" link.
  3. Click the "Open" button to view your site files.
  4. Select the file you want to edit by clicking it once, then click the "Open" button. Your file will be opened, allowing you to edit it using any of PageBuilder's tools.

To learn how to edit your page in a third-party tool, please refer to your software's help files. For more information, see our Third-Party Tools help pages.

Please note that you can edit your pages in a tool different from the one you used to create it; however, you should be sure to use a more advanced tool, or you may damage your page. You can use the same tool or upgrade to the next level, but you should not downgrade to a less complex tool. Learn more.
