Copy and Paste

Copy and paste is computer-speak for reproducing words or other elements (such as HTML code) from one place to another.

To copy and paste:

  1. Click the "Select Code" button to select the code to be copied (or click and drag your cursor over the text to select it).
  2. Copy the code by holding down the CTRL and C buttons (Apple and C for Mac users), or choose "Copy" from the "Edit" menu of your browser.
  3. Visit your File Manager using the link or button provided.
  4. Locate the name of the page (mypage.html, for example) to which you want to add the copied code.
  5. Select the checkbox next to the page name, select "HTML Editor" from the pull-down menu in the upper-right corner, then click on the "Edit" button at the top of the File Manager. (For GeoCities Plus and Pro users, simply click the "Edit" icon next to the file you'd like to edit.)
  6. Place the cursor in the page where you want to add the code.
  7. Paste the code by holding down the CTRL and V buttons (Apple and V for Mac users), or choose "Paste" from the "Edit" menu of your browser.
  8. Click the "Save" or "Save and Continue" button to save your changes.

Note: You may need to reload or refresh your page to see your changes.
