After October 26, 2009, your GeoCities site will no longer appear on the Web, and you will no longer be able to access your GeoCities account and files. If you downloaded your files before GeoCities closed, you can re-create your GeoCities site with any web hosting provider.
We recommend signing up for our award-winning Yahoo! Web Hosting service, which works a lot like GeoCities but includes a personalized domain name (such as widgetdesigns.com) and matching email, terrific new site building tools, unlimited disk space and bandwidth, premium customer support, and more.
If you'd prefer to sign up for a new web hosting service, your new provider can help you upload your site files and images to your new account.
Yahoo! GeoCities Plus customers: Your web site files have not been removed, but you can no longer access them through your GeoCities Control Panel. Instead we've made it simple for you to upgrade to Yahoo! Web Hosting, at the same price you pay for your today for your GeoCities Plus service. See details or upgrade now.
AT&T Yahoo! customers: Please note that we are no longer accepting new AT&T Yahoo! Web Hosting orders, but you can still sign up for Yahoo! Web Hosting anytime. Before you can get started, you'll just need to register a new Yahoo! ID (sorry, the ID you used to sign in to your GeoCities Control Panel won't work). After you sign up, you can start a fresh web site, or upload your saved GeoCities files to continue working on your current site.
The Internet Archive, a nonprofit founded to build an Internet library and archive the public Web, worked to archive as many GeoCities web sites as possible before GeoCities closed. To see if your site was preserved, visit Archive.org and enter your site's web address in the field provided. See details.
