How do each of the different playoff options work to crown a league champion?

No playoffs: The team with the best overall record at the end of the regular season is the league champion.

Four teams (Weeks 15 & 16): At the end of Week 14, four teams qualify for a two-week post-season tournament to determine the league champion. Four other teams (as long as there are eight or more teams in the league) qualify for a consolation bracket to determine fifth through eighth place. Any remaining teams do not play during the playoffs.

Six teams (Week 14, 15, & 16): At the end of Week 13, six teams qualify for a three-week post-season tournament to determine the league champion. The top two seeds are rewarded a Week 14 bye. Teams that don't make the playoffs do not play during the playoffs.
