Unfortunately, you cannot.

It isn't possible to purchase a PLUS team and use it to join a standard (free) league.

Similarly, it isn't possible to upgrade one team only in a free league. If a free league has already been created, the entire league can upgrade, but single teams cannot.

If you plan to purchase (or have purchased) a PLUS team, that team must be used to join or create a PLUS league.
