All leagues must contain an even number of teams in order to process a draft or begin the season. Since it's not possible to draft a league with an odd number of teams, byes do not appear on the schedule.
Byes create problems with the league schedule and playoff tiebreakers, because not all teams would play an equal number of games. To improve the quality of the league experience for all participants, the option to draft with an odd number of teams has been removed.
When an individual player on your roster has a bye week, he doesn't earn any fantasy points. You have to replace him with a player from your bench or a free agent if you want to earn points at that position when your regular active player has a bye.
