You need to have a Yahoo! ID and also subscribe to Yahoo! Real-Time Quotes to use MarketTracker.

We currently support the following operating systems:

  • Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7
  • Mac OS 10.4 or newer (with Firefox 3 browser or newer only)

Also, you should have the latest Java Version. Microsoft Windows XP does not have Java installed by default. In order to install Java so that MarketTracker and other Java-based programs can work on your computer, start the MarketTracker application and it automatically downloads the latest version of Java.

It is currently supported for the following Java-enabled browsers:

  • Internet Explorer 7.0 or newer. (Can be downloaded from this link. Available for Windows Only.)
  • Firefox 3.0 or newer. (Can be downloaded from this link for both Windows and Macintosh.)

(Opera, Netscape, Google Chrome, and Safari Browsers are not supported at this time)

You'll also have more success streaming MarketTracker on broadband, such as: DSL, cable modem, T1 or faster. Dial-up connections are not recommended.

If you are having Java issues, make sure you have downloaded the most recent version of Java Virtual Machine for your browser. You can download JVM from the Sun Java website.

Yahoo! Finance also requires the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. Adobe Flash Player is the standard for delivering high-impact, rich Web content. Please visit this link and the website will automatically check to see if you have the most current version of Adobe Flash.

We currently support the Yahoo! Finance MarketTracker for the Macintosh, using the Firefox browser only (version 3.0 or newer).

You are welcome to try the Yahoo! Finance MarketTracker on other platforms and with other browsers, but we do not currently support them.

In the event you are in need of assistance with financial terminology, go to Yahoo!'s financial glossary.
