Metrics for the overall industry are also included. Companies and industries are compared on key statistics which, for public companies are provided by Capital IQ, EDGAR Online, and Thomson First Call, and for private companies are provided by Hoover's Online. Private company data is based on estimates and conversations with company management, since private companies do not publicly report financial data. Statistics for the industry are calculated as the median across all public companies in the industry.

Public companies are labeled by their ticker symbols and private companies are labeled as "Pvt." Footnotes below the table indicate the full company names and provide notes on the financial data presented.
